One of the arguments against veganism derives from the natural setting. Lions prey on other animals. They eat other animals. Those against veganism suggest we should also live in this fashion and prey on other animals.
Firstly, in defense of the lion, this animal hunts other animals for food. If we observe the lion’s behavior, the kill is made of one animal that will feed the pride for a meal. There is no waste. There is no environmental hazard in the process. There is no oppression or torture throughout the lifetime of the entire species of the hunted animal. The story is frighteningly different if we compare standard human procedure for consuming other animal meats.
Secondly, the lion is incapable of changing to veganism. In this aspect, the lion does not utilize animal products for unnecessary purposes. Lions do not dress in seasonally changing fashions partially made by destroying ecosystems and killing other animals. Lions do not wear animal skins. Lions cannot survive on a plant-based diet. Humans, however, can evolve to an ethical standard of refraining from torturing other animals. Humans can survive without wearing animal skins and fur. Humans have the technology to refrain from killing and torturing animals for commercial goods. Humans can survive on a sustainable vegan diet that will not ruin ecosystems. These are just a few of the arguments to crush the uneducated comparison of lion versus human consumption.
