Every so often, bright young people dealing with mental health issues resort to committing suicide. Many of us deal with problems unobservable to the glancing eye. Deep within ourselves, we each have our demons. Take the time to truly know your inner circle and be present for them in true friendship beyond the fun dinners and laughs. It is in darkness that we need each other most. In the bright lights, everything is clear. In the shadows though, every misstep causes a trip which can result in a fall. Every fall might hurt us a little more until we eventually cannot endure the coming pain of another fall. We give up and choose ending pain over a temporary repeated cycle of many pains. By being present in each other’s lives on a deeper and personal level, and by being aware of each other’s pains, we can assist in healing and guiding so we catch each other before the fall. Is it not a spiritual principle to love a neighbor?
