The human body is made up of about 40 trillion cells working in unison. Almost triple that count is microbial content that makes up the human body. In fact, we are more microbe than we are ourselves, whatever that may mean. How do these independent cells we view as the body of one person manage to construe meaningful units forming an intentionally functioning human?
The simple answer, of course, is purpose. Cells have purpose. The purpose comes from consciousness within cell structure. What is the overall uniting purpose of life? Is a spiritual purpose strong enough to suppress and overcome egotistic and environmental influences that stifle fusion into pure love energy? How does the reincarnating soul, separate from the body, address the cells for functional intent? Does the body suffer when the intention of cells dissipate into meaningless streams away from the communal purpose of reaching pure love energy? Is disease then a pronouncement of spiritual deterioration?
When we cannot lead wholeheartedly toward the intended state of pure love energy, we risk losing the force of amalgamated cells directing toward this end. The ego is waiting to turn those who have discorded against the universal purpose of reaching God. The body becomes the battlefield of a civil war and as is the end of all wars, there are no winners. The cells suffer losses and the battlefield deteriorates.
Sometimes, we are able to rebuild the battlefield. Other times though, as is the case with suicide, the damage becomes irreparable, leading to death. The cause of the damage is not the ultimate act that led to the suicide, be it a jump off a building top or a shotgun wound. The cause of damage is the prior irreversible trauma to the mind’s faculty disabling spiritual rule.
