Project Description
Dr. Robert Lange has spent nearly forty years working on environmental projects across Africa. Since founding the ICSEE in 1992, the theoretical physicist has educated and supported thousands of African women, men, and children in countless ecological pursuits.
The ICSEE concentrates on six key areas:
— Education and Training of Maasai Women for Stove and Solar Installation
— Electrification of Stoves and Solar Panels
— Provision of Energy-Efficient Stoves and Solar Panels
— Provision of Safe Drinking Water
— Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Livestock Management Strategies
— Climate Change Education
Unfortunately amongst the Maasai population, open fires in poorly ventilated living spaces has resulted in respiratory disease and vision impairment. Burns are also incredibly common, particularly in children. Since 2009, the ICSEE’s key priority has been their Stoves and Solar Project; which supports the provision and installation of energy-efficient stoves.
The stoves, manufactured and built locally by the Maasai Women’s Installation Team, provide clean, safer cooking systems for the Maasai people. Your donations help with manufacturing costs and education about livestock practices, water safety, and drought response due to climate change.
How does your donation help?
We’re raising $500k for the ICSEE Tanzania to support their Maasai Stoves and Solar Project.
This total amount will cover two years of operation for the organisation.
Here’s how your donations can help:
— $65 provides one stove
— $135 services 13 stoves per year
— $100 gives solar power to one home
— $25 provides water sanitation systems for one Maasai family
