According to the National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) in the United States, Americans gave $484.85bn to charity in 2021. According to the Charities Aid Foundation, Britons donated £10.7bn.

The US has roughly five times the population of the UK, but Americans give almost fifty times more.

Together, these two countries contributed about half a trillion dollars to charity last year.

With so much donation attributed to organizational cost, the business of the “registered charity” has one of the highest returns on investment. More importantly, the registered charity enjoys the least tangible cost to production and resource, similar to organized religion. What is sold is an ideal based on a delusion upheld by a gullible, charitable, compassionate, and trusting society.

Charity, as an industry, is quickly replacing others for premium return on investment values and taking over organized religion by more impactful delusions. We must dedicate adequate research before involving ourselves in charitable work and demand absolute transparency from non-profits before volunteering and donating.
